This Men’s Health Month, men nationwide are wondering how to not only maintain their health, but also improve it. Are you wondering how to keep the men in your life healthy and happy? At Bellin Health Home Care Equipment we’ve got you covered with the easiest ways to boost your health this June.

  1. Say no to stress

Stress is normal in everyday life, but too much of it can have many different side effects. It may cause a loss of appetite, sleep and even erectile dysfunction. So set aside time in your day to unplug and tune out!

  1. Say yes to outdoor exercise

Men lose up to 30 percent of muscle mass as they age, which is why exercise takes higher priority as time goes by. And the gym is not the only place where you can train! Whether it’s hitting the basketball court or running around the block, just 30 minutes of exercise a few times a week can add about two pounds of muscle.

  1. Catch up on sleep

You may think sleep is for the weak, and you can survive on four to five hours a day, but new research shows that the less people sleep, the faster their brains age. To stay healthy, at least seven hours of sleep is recommended per night. This not only helps with your cognitive skills, but doubles as beauty sleep (so you can finally say goodbye to those dark circles under your eyes).

  1. Don’t eat junk

Heart disease is more common in men, which is why maintaining a healthy weight is crucial.  Reduce your salt intake, eat your fruits and veggies (that lettuce in a BigMac does not count!) and drink at least half a gallon of water per day.
